Caption: This chart shows minimum and maximum daily temperatures the Sheepscot River at river kilometer (RKm) 10.35 between 2001 through 2003. Summertime maximum and sometimes minimum temperatures (June throughout September) have exceed 22.5°C in all years. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed this level. Daily Temperatures then fall below 3.8°C in late October through March, which also halts feeding (Elliott, 1991). Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
