Caption: This chart shows floating weekly maximum temperatures in the lower Ben Brook for the year 2001. Ben Brook falls into an intermediate category for Atlantic salmon juvenile rearing suitability for June to mid-September 2001. Maximum temperatures exceeded stressful levels (22.5 C). Minimum temperatures failed to drop back into optimal feeding ranges for juveniles for several days at a time. Elliott (1991) found that juvenile Atlantic Salmon stop feeding when temperatures exceed 22.5 C. Temperature data are from the Maine Atlantic Salmon Commission.
