This photo shows a volunteer training exercise of the Community Clean Water Institute (CCWI) which provides equipment and training to citizens interested in collected water quality data on their local streams. CCWI has taken data on 14 tributaries of the Russian River since 2001. Ongoing monitoring is dependent upon volunteer commitment. Data collected includes pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, phosphates, nitrates, and turbidity.
