Aquatic Inverts: Santa Rosa Cr Tribs Percent Dominant Index 2000-2002 |
|
Caption: The Sustainable Land Stewardship Institute conducted aquatic invertebrate studies of Santa Rosa Creek and its tributaries from 2000-2002. This chart shows the percentage of the total sample comprised of one organism. SLSI (2002) noted that "Percent Dominant Taxon, for the six reaches ranged from 32% to 50% in 2000, 32% to 45 % in 2001 and 31% to 43% in 2002." Many streams ranged above recognized values for compromised water quality (>39) as defined by the Russian River IBI (Harrington, 1999). Most dominant organisms were from groups of highly pollution tolerant species. Study conducted for the City of Santa Rosa. See InfoLinks for more information on sampling methods and findings.
