Aquatic Invertebrates: Lower Easkoot and Laurel Cr Indices 1995 |
|
Caption: Results from invertebrate sampling on Easkoot and Laurel Creeks in 1995 show that the latter stream had a higher number of pollution intolerant species (EPT Taxa), and more predatory species, although fewer species overall (Total Taxa). Lower Easkoot Creek had a high abundance of the rat-tailed maggot, a very pollution tolerant species. These results suggest that water quality is better in Laurel Creek than in Lower Easkoot Creek. Data were collected by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. See Info Links for more information.
