Fish: Redwood Creek Juvenile Salmonid Abundance (Fish/100ft) 1996 |
|
Caption: The graph shows the average estimated number of juvenile salmonids per 100 feet at several sites in Redwood Creek in November 1996. The length of the surveys is on the axis at right and sites on the X-axis are in downstream order to the right. Heavy storms occurred in winter and late spring of this year. However, overall coho salmon density was similar to 1992, 1993, and 1995 and overall steelhead trout density was similar to 1992 and 1994 (dry years), but significantly less than 1993 and 1995 (wet years) (Smith, 1996). Data were collected by Dr. Jerry J. Smith of San Jose State University for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. See Picture for a map of the sampling sites and Info Links for more information.
