   |  | Caption:  The chart above shows that the North Fork Garcia and nearby streams had very high volumes of fine sediment relative to water depth in their pools. The Garcia River TMDL threshold for V* of 21% is shown for reference. Some sediment in pools may be a result of earlier logging activities and sediment contributions. Knopp (1993) measured fine sediment in pools using the V* technique and found significant relationships between V* and watershed disturbance. See InfoLinks for more information. |
