Fish: Downstream Trap 1990 Results from Tectah Cr |
|
Caption: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Arcata Office operated a downstream migrant trap on several Lower Klamath tributaries in 1990 (click on Chart Table to see raw data). One trap was rotated between sites so each creek was only sampled for a total of approximately twelve nights; however, results are still more useful for assessing community structure than other methods, such as spot electrofishing. Although three species of salmonids are still present in Tectah Creek, they were far out-numbered by other species present. The presence of yearling steelhead and coho juveniles indicates that there is some pool habitat for rearing in Tectah Creek. See Info Links for more information.
