Fish: Downstream Trap 1994 Results from Pine Cr |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the downstream migrant trap results for Pine Creek for the spring and summer of 1994. Trapping commenced on 3/15/94 and ran through 7/14/94, and sampling took place on 54 days. Two traps were operated in Pine Creek, and the results above reflect the total of both traps. The number of salmonid juveniles trapped in Pine Creek was very low in 1994 relative to flow conditions and sampling periods. The water year was similar to 1992 when over 1600 Chinook were captured and steelhead catches were four times as high. Changes in bed conditions relative to high water in the 1993 water year may have adversely effected salmonid survival in subsequent years (see Kier Associates, 1999 in the Bibliography; search on key word Pine Creek). AMMOC is ammocoetes or Pacific lamprey larvae. The data were collected by the Hoopa Tribal Fisheries Department. See Info Links for more information.
