Fish: Mill Cr Downstream Trap Results 1993 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the raw catch downstream migrant trap results for Mill Creek for the spring and summer of 1993. Although four days in February were trapped, consistent trapping effort did not commence until April 20. However, the trap was operated through September 4, 1993. Two traps were operated in Mill Creek only late in the season because high flows made it impossible to place the second net. Results above reflect the total of both traps. Chinook juveniles were the most numerous species, followed by steelhead young of the year (<70 mm). Older age steelhead may swim out of fyke traps, so low numbers of this age class may be due to high flow conditions. See the Source Table for an index of flows. Coho are present but only 17 were captured. AMMOC is ammocoetes or Pacific lamprey larvae. The data were collected by the Hoopa Tribal Fisheries Department. See the Source Table for complete records including flow, water temperature and hours trapped.
