Fish: Mill Cr Downstream Trap Results 1996 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the raw catch downstream migrant trap results for Mill Creek for the spring and summer of 1996. Trapping commenced on 2/21/96 and ran through 6/26/96 and sampling took place on sixty days. Two traps were operated in Mill Creek the entire season and the results above reflect the total of both traps. Steelhead young of the year (<70 mm) were the most numerous species, followed by Chinook, dace, ammocoetes larvae and then steelhead greater than 70 mm (SH_OLDER). Flows remained relatively high throughout the season and steelhead greater than 70 mm (SH_OLDER) may have avoided the trap. The 662 juvenile Chinook is a substantial drop from 1992 catches of 7200 and the 1994 catch of over 5000. The data were collected by the Hoopa Tribal Fisheries Department. See the Source Table for complete records including flow, water temperature and hours trapped.
