Fish: Tish Tang Cr Downstream Trap Results 1995 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the raw catch downstream migrant trap results for Tish Tang Creek for the spring and summer of 1995. Trapping commenced on 2/22/95 but high flows prevented regular trapping until mid-April and flows remained high through June. Adverse trapping conditions resulted in a low catch of juvenile salmonids, particularly older age steelhead (>70 mm/SH_OLDER). Catches of juvenile Chinook were also depressed in Horse Linto Creek and Willow Creek in 1995 (see Topics) and Dutra and Thomas (1999) postulated that stream scour in January and March 1995 high flow events reduced Chinook survival (see Info Links). The same effects may be reflected in the Tish Tang 1995 sample. The data were collected by the Hoopa Tribal Fisheries Department. See the Source Table for complete records including flows, water temperature and hours trapped each day.
