Fish: Tish Tang Cr Downstream Trap Results 1996 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the raw catch downstream migrant trap results for Tish Tang Creek for the spring and summer of 1996. Trapping commenced on 3/14/96 but high flows prevented regular trapping until mid-April and flows remained high through July. The snow pack in Tish Tang in 1996 must have been high because snowmelt was causing flow peaks late in the trapping season. The trap was operated for 58 days. Adverse trapping conditions again resulted in a low catch of juvenile salmonids, particularly older age steelhead (>70 mm/SH_OLDER) and Chinook. Low numbers may reflect reduced trap efficiency. The data were collected by the Hoopa Tribal Fisheries Department. See the Source Table for complete records including flows, water temperature and hours trapped each day.
