Fish: Willow Cr Downstream Trap Results 1995 |
|
Caption: Six Rivers National Forest staff operated a rotary screw trap to capture downstream migrating salmonids in Willow Creek in 1995 and raw catch results are displayed above. There were two high flow events in January and March 1995 and Dutra and Thomas (1999) postulate that the events reduced survival of juvenile Chinook in nearby Horse Linto Creek, possibly due to bed scour. See Info Links for more information. The number of older age steelhead trapped in Willow Creek in 1995 may reflect premature downstream movement during the high flow events or possibly over-winter mortality. The Lower Trinity Ranger District of the Six Rivers National Forest collected the data.
