Temperature: Floating Weekly Average at Walker Creek 1997 and 2001 |
|
Caption: This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperatures at lower Walker Creek (site 54) for the years 1997 and 2001. Maximum floating weekly average water temperature (MWAT) exceeded 16.8°C in both years. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where MWAT exceeds 16.8°C. Walker suffered major debris torrents in the 1997 storm which may have elevated its temperature. Temperature data come from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Klamath River and its tributaries by the Klamath National Forest and the Karuk Tribe.
