Fish: Fall Chinook Tributary Runs 1998 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows fall Chinook salmon escapement estimates for Middle Klamath Basin tributaries for the 1998-spawning season. The 1998 season showed a dramatic decline of fall Chinook returns when compared to 1995-1997 counts, with Camp Creek falling from 900 to 105 and Red Cap Creek from 705 to 148. Beaver Creek had the highest returns with 327 Chinook spawning, followed by Elk Creek (234) and Clear Creek (203). High flows began in mid-November in 1998 and low counts could in fact reflect poor survey conditions. See Source Table for a break down of grilse and adults. Click on Info Links for more information.
