Fish: Downstream Migrant Juv. Steelhead Klamath @ Big Bar 1991-98 |
|
Caption: The chart above shows the estimated number of steelhead passing the US Fish and Wildlife Service downstream migrant trap at Orleans from 1991 to 2000. USFWS has operated downstream migrant traps on the mainstem Klamath and Trinity Rivers consistently since 1991. Because trap efficiencies have been calibrated, annual estimates of the number of juvenile fish passing the trap can be calculated. Steelhead downstream migrant estimates for the Klamath River above the Big Bar trap range from just a low of 2,188 in 1995 to a high of 64,830 in 1998. There are few hatchery steelhead collected in the Klamath at Big Bar. Data provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arcata office. See Info Links for more information and a link to reports.
