Fish: Chinook (Fall) Trinity In-River Sport Harvest 1977-2002 |
|
Caption: Trinity River fall Chinook sport harvest has been estimated by the California Department of Fish and Game and the Hoopa Valley Tribe. Grilse are also known as jack salmon and are generally precocious males that have spent only one year in the ocean. Counts are made by intercepting fish at a counting weir at Willow Creek and marking some animals and using mark-recapture techniques for run size estimate through creel census. For more information and a link to the CDFG reports see Info Links. Please note that the data for year 2002 are provisional (draft).
