| Caption: The New River summer steelhead population has been estimated for the years 1989 to 2000 and results are displayed above. Data provided by the USFWS Arcata field office from field studies in the New River Basin for years 1989-1999. Data for 1999 is estimated and derived from a partial survey, which includes both adult and half-pounders (grilse). The return of adult summer steelhead has ranged from a low of 251 in 1996 to a high of 765 in 1995. The USFS Weaverville field office collected Year 2000-2002 data. | |
