Aquatic Inverts: Percent Dominant Taxa Four Salmon Tribs Fall 1995 |
|
Caption: When few species comprise the bulk of the population of aquatic invertebrates, it generally reflects a disturbed ecosystem. Scores can be interpreted as follows: when one species comprises less than 20% of the population, the water quality has low impacts, 20-30% slight impacts, 30-40% moderate impacts, >40% high impacts. While McNeal and Butler creeks have percent dominance scores associated with low impacts while Crapo and Nordheimer show moderate to high impacts. Data were collected in 1995 by students at Forks of Salmon School as part of a macroinvertebrate environmental education project.
