Temperature: Temp Max NF Salmon Longitudinal 2002 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the maximum daily water temperatures along the NF Salmon during the summer of 2002. Generally, water temperature increased the further downriver it was recorded, with the exception of N. Fork above Big Creek. In all locations except Big Creek, water temperatures were in the range stressful to Salmonids during most of July and August. Data for this chart was derived from automated temperature sensors called Hobotemps, which were anchored in flowing water in the shade. Hobotemps were monitored by students at Forks of Salmon School, community volunteers, paid staff of the Salmon River Restoration Council, and the USFS.
