Temperature: Maximum Hayfork @ 5 Hayfork Locations 1995 |
|
Caption: Water temperature data collected by the Trinity County RCD and Weaverville office of NRCS show that Hayfork Creek warms considerably from its headwaters to its outlet at Hyampom. While upper Hayfork Creek remained mostly below stressful temperatures for salmonids (20 degrees C/68 degrees F), lower Salt Creek and lower Hayfork Creek exceeded stressful levels. Results suggest that warm tributaries of Hayfork Creek in Hayfork Valley, such as Carr Creek and Salt Creek, may add to thermal problems in lower-middle Hayfork Creek. See Picture for a map of gauge locations.
