Temperature: Min, Max & Avg Big Creek (NRCS Site 32) above Ranch 1996 |
|
Caption: The minimum, maximum and average water temperature of Big Creek at NRCS Site 32 shows that the stream fluctuated within optimal growth ranges in June and September of 1996. Except for a few days, at least minimum temperatures usually fell back within optimal growth limits even during warmer periods in July and August. Such as temperature regime allows at least some recovery from warmer, potentially stressful periods for salmonids. This location is above agricultural and domestic diversion for the town of Hayfork. Data provided by NRCS, Weaverville. See Picture for a map of temperature gauge locations.
