Fish: Chinook (Spring) SF Trinity Weir Count |
|
Caption: The California Department of Fish and Game operated the Gates weir on the South Fork Trinity River to capture and mark spring Chinook to help estimate the population from 1991-1994. The peak of the run was earlier in dry years such as 1992 and 1994 and later in the wet year 1993. The weir was removed when stream temperatures increased; therefore, sampling in low flow years may have been curtailed earlier than in wet years such as 1993. See Info Links for more information.
