Sediment: Knopp V* for Greenwood Creek and nearby streams 1992 |
|
Caption: The chart shows that Greenwood Creek and nearby streams had very high volumes of fine sediment relative to water volume in their pools (Knopp, 1993). Decimal places are shifted two places for ease of reading in this chart. The Navarro River TMDL threshold for V* of 0.15, or roughly 15% of pools filled with sediment, is shown for reference. Some sediment in pools may be a result of earlier logging activities and sediment contributions. Knopp (1993) found significant relationships between V* and watershed disturbance, particularly logging and road building. Data provided by the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board.
