Caption: The chart shows the daily minimum, maximum, and average water temperature in Celsius (°C) at lower Greenwood Creek (site 84-1) for the year 2000. Daily maximum temperatures exceeded 15.6°C, the upper optimal temperature for salmonid rearing, during most days in July-September. The site was cooler than upper Greenwood Creek (see next Topic) and cooler than the same site in lower Greenwood Creek in 1997 (see previous Topic). The reference value of 10-15.6°C optimum temperature range for juvenile salmonid rearing is based on McCullough (1999). See Info Links for more information. Data comes from automated water temperature data probes placed by the Mendocino Redwood Company.
