Topic Fish: Snorkel Surveys Indian Creek 2001 Spring

Caption:  This chart displays snorkel data from all surveys in Indian Creek in spring, 2001. California roach were more numerous than steelhead unlike spring 2000; likely as a result of very low flow and rainfall in 2001. The number of steelhead observed was 3,478 in the year prior while only 2,628 juveniles were counted in the same reach in 2001. The data were provided by University of California, Davis. Click on Info Links for more information and a link to Johnson et al. (2002). See below for a key to species: 0+ Steelhead = young of the year steelhead 0++Steelhead = steelhead either large young of the year or small 1+ (only used in 2000 sampling) 1+ Steelhead = steelhead older than one year Coho = young of the year coho Roach = California roach Stickleback = threespine stickleback All Sculpin = combined totals for coast range and prickly sculpin Crayfish = crayfish Sucker = Sacramento sucker Tadpole = tadpole (unknown species) Newt = rough-skinned newt
