Serial NameStream Inventory Rep
PurposeTo assess the health of northwestern California streams, and monitor change.
Data Quality InformationCrew experience varied; mostly AmeriCorps and California Conservation Corps trained by CDFG staff.
Use ConstraintsDescriptions of LWD are useless for assessing amounts and monitoring change because survey protocol embeds data on wood within a subjective cover classification scheme. Habitat typing is subjective and often not replicable.
Supplemental InformationHabitat surveys use McCain et al. (1990) method.
