Sediment: Lower Trinity - Sediment Transport Yields 1957-1960 |
|
Caption: This charts shows historical sediment transport yields in the mainstem Trinity River for years 1957-1960. The data suggest that the load at Hoopa was generated at a rate 6 times the upper watershed and more than 1.5 times the SF. This implies a considerable amount of instability and sediment yield existed in the South Fork, Lower Middle, and portions of the Lower Trinity areas before the December 1964 storm. Data were collected by the US Geological Survey and reported by Graham Matthews and Associates as part of their Trinity River Sediment Source Analysis (2001). See Info Links for more information.
