Temperature: Floating Weekly Average Trinity River Sites 2002 |
|
Caption: This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperatures at four sites on the Trinity River for the year 2002. Maximum floating weekly average water temperature (MWAT) far exceeded 16.8°C at all sites, indicating that these sites on the mainstem Trinity are unsuitable for rearing coho salmon juveniles. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where MWAT exceeds 16.8°C. Temperature data come from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Trinity River and its tributaries by the Six Rivers National Forest, lower Trinity Ranger District.
