Habitat: Scour Pool Habitat by Length for Mainstem Navarro River 1996 |
|
Caption: The chart shows the percentage of scour pool habitat by length for streams in the Mainstem Navarro River sub-basin. Scour pool habitat varied from none on MustaRD Gulch to 51% on Meyer Gulch. Streams are arrayed by Strahler order (larger order streams at the top), and larger order streams should have more scour pool habitat because hydraulic forces are greater in those streams. Scour formed pools often have greater depth and complexity, and often form high quality salmonid habitat. Lack of large wood may be associated with low scour pool frequency in the Navarro basin (Entrix et al., 1998). See Info Links for more information.
